Home to Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU), it also holds the Weiße Rose Memorial, honoring the student resistance against the Nazi regime. The stunning Ludwigskirche features one of the largest altar frescoes in the world, while iconic spots like Alter Simpl, the birthplace of Dadaism.
